HubSpot is a leading CRM platform that offers a suite of tools for marketing, sales, and customer service. In this part, we will explore HubSpot’s sign-up and onboarding process to inspire yours.
HubSpot's registration page is designed in accordance with the standards. They ask for an email or let you sign uo via Google, Microsoft or Apple accounts.
The Hubspot sign-up page has a clear design and away from exaggeration.
For security concerns, HubSpot asks for email verification to continue to the next steps.
After the first essential processes, HubSpot’s sign-up survey appears, consisting of 9 questions.
Even if it looks like a long survey, the way they present the questions are pretty simple and does not overwhelm the users.
There is also a progress bar at the top of the survey to help users keep track of their movement.
First, it asks about the user information**.** This step asks for the user’s first and last name. It presents two text input fields for the first name and last name.
Then it asks about have you used software to manage or engage with customers before. It inquires about the user’s previous experience with similar software. The question is presented with two options: “Yes” and “No.” This helps HubSpot measure the user's familiarity with CRM tools and tailor the subsequent setup experience accordingly.
The 3rd question checks if the user has specific goals or problems they aim to address using HubSpot. The question is again presented with two options: “Yes” and “No.” This question allows HubSpot to understand the user’s intentions and provide a more customized setup experience.
Next the user is asked to specify their industry. A selection of industry options is provided, including Marketing and Advertising, Technology and Services, Computer Software, and more. This helps HubSpot tailor its features and suggestions based on the industry, enhancing the relevance of the provided tools and templates.
The user needs to specify their role within their organization in the following question. A selection of role options is provided, such as Owner, Executive Team, Manager, Employee, Student/Intern, and Freelancer. This ensures that the setup process is aligned with the user’s responsibilities and needs within their organization.
The survey asks for the name of the user’s company. A simple text input field is provided for the company name. This step personalizes the user account and links it directly to their business.
In the 7th question, the user is asked about the size of their company. Several options are provided, ranging from “Just me” to “10,001 or more.” Knowing the company size helps HubSpot recommend the appropriate tools and configurations.
The survey asks for the URL of the user’s company website. A text input field is provided for the user to enter their website address. This allows HubSpot to gather more context about the user’s business and potentially integrate website data into the CRM.
The user lastly chooses the preferred data hosting location. Two options are provided: Europe and United States. This question is important for compliance with data protection regulations and user preferences regarding data security.
After the registration survey, HubSpot directs users to a second survey, the three-step customization survey, to customize the CRM according to their needs. This is an on-demand section, so they also have the option to skip this section.
Users are asked to select a template for their HubSpot CRM based on their business focus, such as Sales, Marketing, or Customer Service. This step helps to set up the CRM with the relevant features and workflows quickly.
In this step, users can add sample contacts or sync their Google contacts. This allows users to see how the CRM will manage their contacts and provides a hands-on experience with the interface. HubSpot provides sample contacts to demonstrate the process, making it easier for new users to understand.
Users are invited to add teammates by entering their email addresses. This step emphasizes collaboration and allows teams to share data, assign contacts, and work together more effectively. Users can also choose to make the invitees super admins, granting them full access to CRM functionalities.
